My research interests are cross-disciplinary and intersect various areas of psychology (social, personality and political) and political science. I incorporate insights from several research traditions with the aim of identifying how different factors that lead to political violence and extremism relate to each other and interact in complementary ways. In particular, I investigate the extent to which individual psychological needs, emotions and motives pertaining the management of deprivation, victimization, uncertainty, group threat and perceived injustice are related to intentions, attitudes and acts of political violence.
