I am a visiting PhD student from the Department of Communication at the University of Vienna, Austria. In Vienna, I am a member of the Advertising and Media Psychology research group headed by Jörg Matthes, who is also my doctoral supervisor. My background is in psychology and communication studies.
My dissertation focuses on the contents, perceptions, and effects of news reporting about far-right extremism and terrorism. Particularly, I investigate how acts of violent extremism and terrorism are portrayed in the media and how specific victim representations shape intergroup attitudes and emotional outcomes. Besides terrorism, my other research interests include environmental communication and misinformation.
