Ingeborg Asperheim Eldegard

Graduate student

I am a psychology master student at the University of Oslo. In my master thesis, we aim to explore why some individuals self-select themselves into settings of violent extremism, as a function of their personality traits and ideological orientations. In addition, by analyzing ISIS propaganda material, we want to investigate if the language and features of such campaigns taps onto specific traits of targeted audience. Therefore, this project will primarily focus on determinants of individual characteristics when explaining how certain individuals, but not others, may be more inclined towards extremism.
