Onab Mohamdain

Research Assistant

Having recently completed an Msc in Social Cognition from University College London, UK, where my research with Dr. Pranjal Mehta focused on threat and out-group attitudes, specifically, the relation between disease threat and out-group attitudes in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. From there I grew further interest in investigating how high-status groups perceive and react to notions of discrimination against minorities.

I also hold an MA in in peace and development studies from University of Bahri, Sudan, where my main focus was on ethnic-based conflict and social change in Sudan’s recent history.

My research interests include intergroup relations, social hierarchy, power dynamics and their association with development and wellbeing in minority societies.
