Petra Sidler

PhD Student

I am a doctoral student in Migration Studies at the NCCR-on the move and the School of Education of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. In my doctoral thesis, I assess adolescents’ attitudes towards mutual acculturation in the school context. I am interested in how attitudes towards mutual acculturation of adolescents with and without a migration background change over the course of three years and how such attitudes may be connected to psychological adjustment. Having a background in Social Sciences and Practical Philosophy, I take an interdisciplinary approach and also work on categorisations like “migration background” using feminist and critical race theories.
